In the presence of the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, Prof. Dr. Nima Dahsh Farhan, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, in addition to esteemed religious and academic figures, the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop on the sanctity of the Holy Quran in response to the abuse carried out by an extremist in Sweden by burning a copy of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque in Stockholm.

The workshop discussed the sanctity of the Holy Quran and the reasons for undermining its sanctity. Prof.Dr. Al-Saadi affirmed that this unacceptable act invites us to meditate and reflect on the Holy Quran, calling for highlight on the scientific predictions mentioned in it, which were discovered in the era of technological development.

The lecturers in the workshop recommended the need to establish an international Islamic scientific conference sponsored by the University of Baghdad dealing with scientific discoveries in the Holy Quran, pointing to the importance of protecting the minds of university students from methods of deviation such as atheism and drug abuse by focusing on Quranic concepts in the curriculum and demanding the criminalization of violation to human sanctities and heavenly books.
