The University of Baghdad collaborated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in hosting a scientific workshop entitled (Iraqi Standards for the Quality of Laboratories of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research) in the hall of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science at the university.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Lama Hussein Alwan, a member of the Ministerial Committee for preparing the Iraqi Standards Guide for Laboratory Quality, and the accompanying Ministerial Committee, and the head of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department, Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, and a number of esteemed professors in and directors of quality assurance departments in (39) Iraqi universities.

A significant point of workshop was discussed concerning  the guide prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for work in laboratories and universities, as this document is general for laboratory work standards accepted at the minimum level in the ministry, and contributes to providing an educational and research environment and consolidating knowledge and building skills among students and researchers in a way that ensures the sobriety of the educational process and is consistent with the principles of accreditation Academic.

In this context, workshop holds immense significance as it focuses on the laboratories that help students to acquire practical skills during their studies in undergraduate and postgraduate programs during the implementation of their projects in these laboratories, and it is considered important for obtaining international accreditation for universities.
