Within the activities of the Middle East Spine Organization, the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, has participated in the work of the second Iraqi-Turkish conference on spine surgery. The scientific activities were held in the presence of a wide spectrum from the Iraqi and Turkish sides in Baghdad.
In a participation in the conference, Assist.Prof.Dr. Mounir Khammas Faraj, neurosurgeon specialist in the college above, has presented his research paper on one of the methods of stabilizing the dorsal vertebrae for lumbar spondylolisthesis and its efficiency compared to international research, highlighting on the method of placing an artificial material between the vertebrae after removing the cartilage to relieve pressure on the nerves between the vertebrae in order to increase the size of the hole from which the nerve exits between the two vertebrae.This is a key scientific achievement in this field that is credited to the College of Medicine and our esteemed University.
