The rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr.Munir Al-Saadi, held a meeting with the dean and heads of scientific departments in the College of Education for Pure Science/ Ibn Al-Haitham, in the presence of the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance, Assist.Prof.Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, and the directors of the Media, Public Relations, Construction, Projects and Services Divisions and the follow-up unit in the college.

The meeting included a discussion of the scientific developments in the college and the remarkable growth in the level of research, scientific publishing and academic performance, and stressing the need for continuous work for the purpose of enrolling the major specialties of college departments in international rankings. The meeting also dealt with several axes, including the continuation of work for the purpose of entering “Ibn Al-Haitham Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences” into the Scopus as soon as possible within a work plan previously developed by the Dean of the College.

The parties participating in the meeting also discussed the continuous increase in the (h-index) for Ibn Al-Haytham Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences during the last (8) months, as the index increased from 6 to 10 through publishing researches in the Scopus as well as encouraging professors to cite the researches of their colleagues published in International repositories within the same general and precise specialization.

Prof. Dr.Munir Al-Saadi, directed to reconsider and develop the approved curricula in the faculties of education, both for pure sciences and for human sciences, and to emphasize the need to highlight the identity of the College of Education for pure science and to cultivate the spirit of belonging to this scientific institution in the hearts of professors and students, and to review the approved teaching methods and the use of Modern methods and techniques in teaching as well as an emphasis on introducing artificial intelligence in the curricula. The rector of the University was briefed on the most recent achievements of the deanship in developing infrastructure and sustainability in the college, praising the efforts of the college deanship.
