In presence of Prof.Dr.Munir AL-Saadi, the Rector of the University of Baghdad, a number of deans and professors from different universities in Iraq, the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad has held a scientific workshop at Mahdi Hantoush Hall in the college.

The workshop dealt with an explanation of the majors of the University of Dundee and the opportunities to study there, and some ideas were discussed for developing academic cooperation between the British University of Dundee and the University of Baghdad, as well as some ideas were answered questions from the attendees Professor Ian Gillespie, the Chancellor of the University of Dundee and Mr. Jason Norris, Strategic Partnerships Manager in the University, lectured at the workshop. During discussions in Workshop Professor Ian Gillespie stressed that the United Kingdom wants to work with its partners in Iraq through higher education in order to build strong and real educational partnerships.

It is worth noting that the British University of Dundee is located 70 kilometers north of the city of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, and it ranked first as the best university in the study of civil engineering in the United Kingdom, and the third best university in 2011, as it is distinguished by its advanced medical equipment, which attracts students from all over Europe to study.
