Assist. Prof. Dr. Naima Zidan Khalaf and Dr. Nibal Karim Abdullah, the professors specialized in the Scout Band at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, have organized, in cooperation and coordination with the Department of the National Sports Observatory and the Department of Studies and Development of Cadres and Youth Leaders at the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports, a scientific symposium for the first-grade students entitled (The Sports Role of Scout Camps among Youth) under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed al-Mubarqa and under the supervision of the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Fatima Abdul Maleh and the engineer Abdul Khaliq Khader Al-Khafaji. The session was chaired by Dr. Naima Zeidan, Dr. Nibal Karim, the director of the National Observatory Department at the Ministry of Youth, Prof. Amjad Hamad al-Jashami and Dr. Sura Hussein.

The lecturers discussed the following topics, the most important of which are the importance of practicing sports activities in scout camps, highlighting the role of sport in promoting and developing the physical fitness such as strength, agility, flexibility and endurance, gaining the power of observation and the spirit of enthusiasm and adventure, improving public health, reducing the feeling of fatigue, refining creative skills. The symposium concluded with dedicating the shield of the college and letters of thanks and appreciation to the participants in appreciation of their efforts and effective contribution to the success of this event, wishing them more success in the service of their college and our beloved country.
