The Pediatric Nursing Branch at the College of Nursing has organized a field visit to Ibn Al-Bitar Center for Cardiac Surgery for the master’s students under the supervision of their faculty members. The visit aimed to identify congenital heart disease among children and the role of the nurse in paying attention to the associated symptoms and an explanation of the most common cases of cardiac catheterization. The postgraduate students kept abreast with the clinical examination and signs of hypoxia, direct application of the ECG with a detailed explanation by the nursing staff at the center, ways to prevent respiratory infection among children outside the home and how to prevent the patients from reaching serious complications of congestive heart failure.
