The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled (Food Safety) via the virtual Google Meet service, in the presence of a number of professors and students of undergraduate and postgraduate studies with an attempt to maintain food health and safety in addition to storing foods at appropriate temperatures to preserve them for human consumption.

The workshop also included other topics, including addressing common foodborne diseases and physical, chemical and biological sources of pollution, which include more than 40 types of bacteria, viruses, parasites, and molds that may be found in food and cause food poisoning, and most people may get it, but there is a group more susceptible to this poisoning, including: people with weak immunity due to infection with a certain disease or due to the use of medicines, young children, the elderly, and people receiving health care especially. The participants in this event called for personal hygiene as the bacteria that cause food poisoning can spread everywhere and transmitted from people to food easily by touching the nose, eyes, hair, or clothes, etc. Also they stressed on storing food properly between 5-60 degrees Celsius.
