The dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Saba Jabar Neima, has lately chaired a session on establishing smart cities during the proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Geographic Information Systems, which is held at the National Security Advisory in cooperation with the University of Baghdad. Many scientific bodies inside and outside Iraq have contributed in this event such as Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, under the auspices of His Excellency the Prime Minister, who was represented by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of the National Security Advisor and a number of officials, deputies, foreign, Arab and Iraqi scientific figures, and the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Saidi who also has chaired the opening research session. A number of professors have participated in this conference concerned with the dissemination of knowledge and the exchange of international experiences on geographic information systems and the future of smart cities.
