The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina Unit at the College of Pharmacy has organized a workshop entitled (Lifestyle Change is the Basis for the Treatment of Chronic Diseases), which was delivered by Assist. Lecturer Nisreen Jumaa Jabr from the Clinical Pharmacy Branch. She stated that while most physicians start treating patients with medical drugs as the first step in case of chronic diseases, scientific studies and recent research emphasize the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle and consider it the basis for treating most chronic diseases before starting medications. The workshop included a statement of the most prominent components of a healthy lifestyle, most notably healthy food rich in fruits and vegetables, staying away from fast foods rich in fats and salts, exercising regularly, in addition to quitting smoking and psychological anxiety because of its bad impact on human health in general.
