The Department of Home Economics at the College of Education for Women, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held a workshop on “Nervous tension and its impact on body functions”, in which Prof. Dr. Intisar Kamal gave a lecture in the presence of a group of faculty members, employees and students with the aim to identify the effect of nervous tension on the functions of the human body systems. The workshop reached at a set of recommendations, the most important of which are to follow a healthy diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, promote productive friendships, talk to friends and family members, and avoid unhealthy ways to deal with stress, such as drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco or overeating.
