The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad has recently hosted the 13th meeting of the Committee of Deans of the Faculties of Agriculture in Iraq, in the presence of the Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Damad al-Qaisi, and the Former Director General of the Department of Crop Protection, Prof. Dr. Hamid Ali Hadwan, as well as the deans of the faculties of agriculture and the Chairman of the Council for Improving the Quality of Agricultural Education.

During the meeting, the reasons for the low acceptance rates were discussed and a number of solutions and treatments were proposed that would provide fair distribution of students and reduce the size of the risks that the country will suffer from in the future in light of the lack or absence of agricultural expertise that would affect the agricultural sector in a country that has all the elements of the successful agriculture. The participants agreed on a number of recommendations that will be submitted to decision-makers, focusing on the importance of activating the private agricultural sector and benefiting from the experiences of pioneering countries in promoting agriculture through the formation of an agricultural council led by decision-makers. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kazim Hassan, the dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad and Chairman of the Committee of Deans of the Colleges of Agriculture, have expressed their thanks to the guests and the deans for their keenness to support the agricultural engineers that may ultimately be reflected in the agricultural sector in Iraq.
