The Public Health Branch at the College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, has organized an educational awareness symposium to highlight the harms of the Chinese salt from a health point of view, which has been commonly used in meals recently, since it is one of the flavorings that many people may prefer to be added to food but of a great damage to the body, so it is necessary to moderate and use it in small amounts. The symposium showed that Monosodium glutamate (MSG) flavor enhancer causes damage to nerves and brain according to many studies and it has a role in consumer addiction to eating a specific product because of taste, and it may also cause obesity, diabetes, headache, migraine, hyperactivity and attention deficit in children as well as autism.
