The National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled “Iraq’s natural resources and how to exploit them” delivered by the Assist. Lecturer Fadel Malik Fadel, in the presence of the director of the center, Dr. Nasr Salman Shamil. The workshop aimed to discuss the importance of natural resources in the sustainability of people’s lives due to their place in building civilizations.

The lecturer dealt with the role of man in helping nature maintain the ecological balance and ensure the survival of many living organisms, in addition to seeking to produce many crops that are the source of air, water and good soil. He pointed out that natural resources are all that nature provides from natural reserves required by human survival, such as oil, natural gas, phosphates, mercury, and other natural resources. In conclusion, the workshop stressed not to offend the environment and develop it in a sustainable manner, as well as the need to follow modern methods in research and extraction of natural wealth because it is a source of building peoples.
