The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation Division at the College of Pharmacy has organized a course entitled: (Assessment tools in medical education), that was presented by Prof. Dr. Sabih Abbas al-Mashhadani, the director of the National Center for Medical Competence Assessment of the Health and University Education Authority at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.

The course aimed to enhance the skills of faculty members and their abilities in giving exams and evaluating the student skills so as to ensure the achievement of the college’s objectives and its role in attaining the best academic level of the graduate pharmacists. It even addressed several topics, the most important of which are the concepts and principles of evaluation in medical education, its various and modern methods as well as the design of the examination map in accordance with the objectives of the curriculum. The lecturer discussed the mechanism of OSCE & OSPE standardized comprehensive clinical examinations. It is noteworthy that during the course that has lasted for three days, a delegation of the professors of the college of pharmacy has visited the National Center for Evaluation of Medical Competencies in Karbala.
