The dean of the College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad, Assist. Prof. Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed al-Shatri, has met recently the representatives of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Iraq, in the presence of members of the Central and Organizational Committee for Coordination as well as the representatives of this organization to re-evaluate the action plan that should be implemented as part of the memorandum of understanding between the two sides.

During the meeting, they addressed many topics the most important of which is the definition of the current committee, reviewing the activities completed or that would be held in future, as well as discussing paragraphs to update the cooperation mechanism in line with the college’s ambition for development and progress. The representatives of the organization presented a comprehensive review of its current programs related to training and developing youth and adolescents and the possibility of employing these programs to develop the faculty members and students with regard to leading civic initiatives, conducting electronic surveys, launching and supporting initiatives, collecting and analyzing data, advocacy campaigns, discussing decision-makers, how to conduct joint research in agreement with the college committee to determine the criteria for selecting students and determining the place and time to start their projects, The Prof. Nawar al-Ani, the representative of the organization will conduct a series of training workshops on the U-Report UNICEF program for the coordinating committee for empowering young people around the world to engage in and speak out on issues that matter in the participation of a selected group of professors and students.
