Prof. Dr. Hassan Mandil al-Uqaili, a lecturer from the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Women has called during an interview with the Huna Baghdad TV Channel for initiating a linguistic culture project on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day on January 18, that was approved by the United Nations General Assembly of the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – UNESCO in Paris. It is noteworthy that the Arabic language is one of the official languages adopted to be used in the proceedings of the United Nations.

Dr. Hassan Mandeel stated that the importance of linguistic culture is not restricted only to the use and understanding of the language as many people believe without knowing the foundations of the sound language that can be considered as an illusion since whoever does not possess a reasonable level of integrity of language and style, cannot communicate his knowledge to others in an accurate way. He added that the general linguistic culture is an essential part of the components of the personality of the intellectual who should acquire some language skills that relate to its sound foundations to have clear methods of expression in an easy and clear language devoid of defects that affects the personality of the addressee, respecting and not to underestimate it.
