The Department of Water Resources Engineering at the University of Baghdad has organized a five-a-side football match for the students of the first and third grades, where usually the matches are hold on the college’s stadiums. This event was attended by the head of department to encourage students in such sports events. The match ended in favor of the third grade student team (7:2). The head of the department, Prof. Dr. Bassem Shebaa, also directed the organization of such periodic matches on condition that they do not coincide with the students’ lectures, and also urged paying attention to delivering specialized lectures to raise the student’s scientific level and to enhance the sports spirit among our dear students.
