The Department of Mathematics at the College of Science for Women has organized an introductory symposium for first-grade students under the supervision of the head of the department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Nadia Muhammad Jawad. The aim of the symposium is to introduce students to the important role played by math in various scientific fields, as it is an important pure science which serves other sciences such as medicine, engineering, management, economics and other disciplines.

The symposium also included scientific lectures on the department’s endeavors to develop the mental and personal abilities of its students and is keen to qualify them to take their positive role in the process of work and development, and the applications of differential equations in economics, as well as having a major role in solving legal cases of women through statistics, analysis and logical thinking by solving mathematical problems that may be exposed to in daily life.
