The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled (Pollution of the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers) via the Google Meet service and in the presence of a number of college professors, graduate and undergraduate students with the aim to identify the sources of water pollution and ways and solutions to reduce it.

The workshop also included several topics, the most important of which is the continuation of biological and bacterial tests of all kinds periodically, and the replacement of damaged pipes to prevent the mixing of sterile drinking water with heavy groundwater and sewage stations. Also attention should be made periodically to the irrigation and cleaning of Tigris and Euphrates that have become today as a marsh or swamp because of the reed plants, debris and dirt thrown in, so the responsibility lies on the Ministry of Water Resources in this case and the need to educate citizens about rationalizing water consumption because they are depleted resources that are not renewable and to direct industrial facilities built on the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers to install and improve polluted water treatment units before putting them into rivers, including hospitals.
