The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the College of Political Science and the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the presidency of the University of Baghdad, has organized a scientific workshop entitled (The Impact of Social Media on the Reality of Women in Society). The workshop included a research paper submitted by Dr. Awrad Muhammad Malik entitled (The Impact of Social Media on Women and Family: Pros and Cons) in which he spoke about the contributions of social networking sites to the emergence of behaviors and terms that seemed strange to our Arab and Islamic societies, where technological progress greatly affects many aspects of our lives positively and negatively, especially on the reality of women as the main pillar on which the family and community are based upon.

Assist. Prof. Basma Khalil Namiq also addressed social networking sites on the Internet wide spread in recent years, as it constituted a major technological boom and a new situation that has no precedent in its quality and breadth and in understanding the changes that occur in social behavior in its collective and individual form and at the internal and external levels and as a cross-border communication authority, and varied and varied in the provision of services. In conclusion, a study was presented by Hind Athab Khudair, in which he spoke about the impact of social media on building the personality of women in community, where the researcher dealt with the psychological and social impact of the impact of social media on women, whether positive or negative, stating that there are several networks that contribute to supporting women in society and their rights in all political, social and educational fields and their rights to occupy senior positions in the country.
