The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad has organized a continuing education course entitled (The latest developments in diabetes) in the presence of a number of faculty members aimed to inform the participants about the definition of diabetes, its types, causes, the most important symptoms of injury and the most important prevention methods used to reduce the incidence. The course also included a full explanation of the first and second type of diabetes, and the most important bacterial infections and infections of those infected such as gingivitis and lung injury in addition to urinary tract infection. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic endocrine disorder characterized by hyperglycemia caused by absolute or relative insulin deficiency.

There are a number of different causes of diabetes, but most conditions are classified as either type I or type II diabetes. Diabetes mellitus (DM) also known as diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which blood sugar levels rise over a long period. As well as discussing the definition, diagnosis and classification of diabetes, bacterial and immune infection and their relationship to diabetes as well as the use of Saxenda weight loss medicine. The course recommended the need to be careful for people with diabetes from contracting bacterial infections and the need to pay attention to raising the level of their immunity and taking the necessary treatments as directed by the physician in addition to following a healthy diet and exercising in order to preserve their health.
