The Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad has recently won the first place in the university championship for chess organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Department of Student and Sports Activities in Basra Governorate. The participation represented by the graduate student Mujtaba Manaf Jalal from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering who has won the first place in a competition of more than fifty public and private universities, as the University of Baghdad’s team achieved six and a half points out of seven rounds, the winners were honored with the bronze necklace and cups in Basra Governorate and honored by the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Wadood Taher Muhammad, with the shield of Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering and a certificate of thanks and appreciation.
