The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Health Insurance Authority, held a workshop entitled (Iraqi Health Insurance Program), which was delivered by the lecturer Dr. Ali Aziz Ali from the Clinical Pharmacy Branch, and Dr. Ihab Abdul Karim Khalaf, the Director of the Control and Audit Directorate at the Health Insurance Authority.

Dr. Ali Aziz Ali gave a summary about the current Iraqi health system in its public and private sectors and the advantages of each of them and touched on the global health systems and how they can be used to improve the Iraqi health system and improve health services, as well as a summary of the study he completed with the master’s student Haider Naji on the opinion of health care providers (doctors and pharmacists) regarding the new Iraqi health insurance project. The second lecture was given by Dr. Ihab Abdul Karim Khalaf, the official spokesman of the Health Silence Authority on the mechanisms of applying the new Iraqi health insurance, which was approved by the Iraqi Council of Representatives in 2021.
