The Department of History at the College of Education for Women has witnessed the public discussion of the master’s student (Riyam Nazim Radhi) who submitted a thesis entitled (The Urban Aspect in the Book: Mufarrej Al-Karoub by Ibn Wasel (d. 697 AH / 1298 AD)) aimed to shed light on his life through studying his biography, writings including the book (Mufarrej Al-Karoub) being one of the important sources of news of the Ayyubid state and to highlight the texts dealing with the urban aspect of the study and extraction, as well as to identify the urban aspects of the Ayyubid era and their areas of influence and those who preceded them from the ruling eras. The researcher reached at a set of results, the most important of which is the importance of the personality of Ibn Wasel, who was a historian, judge and teacher adept in various arts who wrote about different political, economic, social, urban and military affairs, the progress of scientific and intellectual civilization in Egypt and Bilad al-Sham (Syria) that witnessed building schools at a time when Egypt was devoid of schools.
