The Department of Home Economics at the College of Education for Women, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the college held a workshop entitled “How to calculate your ideal weight”, in which the lecturer Bahira Mahmoud Jaafar attended by a group of professors, employees and students.

The workshop aimed to identify the concept of ideal weight and its importance for public health, and to know how to calculate the ideal weight of an individual and how to reach and maintain the ideal weight. The workshop reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to eat healthy foods such as whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits, low-fat milk products, low-fat meats and nuts, and the need to exercise regularly and monitor the calories consumed by the individual daily and the size of the food portion eaten. The workshop included discussions, scientific interventions and answering the questions posed by the attendees, then the weight and height of a number of scholars and students.
