The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Women has sponsored a scientific symposium entitled: (Employing postmodern curricula in the study of language and literature) delivered by Talal Khalifa Salman, Dawood Salman al-Anbaki, Karim Obaid Alawi, Thaer Hamad al-Gharbawi, Rasha Yas Abd and Hussein Fadel Mallouh. The symposium included addressing several topics, including the curricula of modernity and beyond borders and concepts, postmodern curricula, the approach to the Arab heritage text, receiving modernist curricula and the problems of understanding and employing them in the Arab countries, and heritage texts in the balance of postmodern curricula (applied works). The seminar aimed to shed light on the most important linguistic and critical approaches adopted for the study of texts in the era of modernity and beyond in order to identify their special features, strengths and weaknesses and some of their applications in the fields of language and literature.
