The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad has organized its Fourth Scientific Conference that was entitled (The History of Science Among the Arabs) in the presence of the assistant rector for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul Hameed Ashour and that lasted for several days. The conference was consisted of two sessions during its first day, the first session included many research papers addressing the Arabic language in general and the language of scientific research and public health in Mesopotamia, the features of the scientific-linguistic theory in the heritage of the Arabs, in addition to the Greek origins of cognitive approaches in Arabic language linguistics, new rhetoric, an explanation of Ibn Bishrun’s letter and Ibn Khaldun’s commentary on making chemistry.

The researchers reached at a number of recommendations including the need to emphasize the importance of holding such cultural events that contribute to the progress of community, establish international, national and regional conferences in order to link the Arab scientific heritage with the scientific reality at the present so as to enhance scientific interaction between the university, state institutions, people and organizations, to benefit from the research conducted in this regard, stressing on the necessity to establish a modern laboratory at the center in cooperation with the colleges of science and engineering, as well as spreading awareness of our heritage among our the youth and the development of heritage courses to be studied at the university.
