The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts has organized a symposium on (The Iraqi Family between Tradition and Modernity) in cooperation with the Department of Social Studies at the House of Wisdom. The symposium aimed to clarify the definitions of the concepts of family, tradition, modernity and the dimensions of this phenomenon through the disciplines of social sciences, namely sociology, anthropology, and social work, as well as the role played by the ministry of education in moral education in addition to the Islamic education at the academic level to consolidate the values of tolerance, acceptance of the other and family synergy, and the organization of scientific activities through which the different scientific disciplines are paired to reach a comprehensive vision of the various societal phenomena and the value of peace.
