The Center for Development and Continuing Education has lately hosted the Major General Dr. Ali Muhammad Salem, Director General of the Family and Child Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, to deliver a lecture on (Violence against Women in Iraq) in the presence of a group of university employees from outside the university. The lecturer at first started with informing the audience of the latest statistics on the types of violence against women registered in the official departments, as well as the mechanisms followed by the Ministry of Interior in dealing with battered women, and what are the hotlines to receive complaints and what are the procedures that should be adopted when dealing with the women concerned, concluding with a number of recommendations for various official and community bodies, religious institutions, media and others, and dedicated a certificate of appreciation to Major General Dr. Ali Muhammad Salem.
