The College of Languages at the University of Baghdad has organized a symposium entitled (Translation from Persian to Arabic and its role in the labor market: The tourism translation as a model) in the presence of a number of professors in the scientific departments and the fourth-grade students at the Department of Persian Language. The lecturers aimed to discuss the needs of the labor market for translators specialized in various fields, including the field of tourism in Iraq, as well as the problems and obstacles that stand in front of the process of preparing specialized translators and proposing appropriate solutions so that the translator can possess the necessary tools and skills that enable him to deal himself with various types of texts for the purpose of translating them to meet the requirements and needs of the labor market.

The symposium also included several axes, including translation and its importance in the labor market and the professional future of graduates of the departments of languages and translation, the most important areas of work of graduates of the departments of languages and translation, as well as the importance of tourism translation as a suitable market for the work of the specialized translator and the most important Persian language terms used in the field of religious tourism in Iraq. The professors called on the students of the department of translation in general and the students of the department of Persian language in particular to exert more effort to be able to master the secrets of translation and reveal its secrets, by having a wide and a diverse culture so that they can accomplish their work to the fullest by refining their language skills practically.
