A number of professors of the Clinical Pharmacy Branch have accompanied a group of the fifth grade students on a scientific visit to the Department of Medicine City at the National Center for Hematology Research and Treatment, the Chemical Mixing Unit and Parenteral Nutrition Unit at the Children’s Protection Hospital for the purpose of reviewing the role of pharmacists in these two important units.

A group of students of the Clinical Pharmacy Board working in the General directorate of the Medical City have contributed to the activity targeted towards demonstrating practical ways on how to prepare parenteral nutrition solutions, the method of mixing chemical drugs, and the precautions that should be taken into consideration for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the drugs prepared in the unit and the safety of the pharmacist responsible for mixing chemical drugs. Then some medical conditions requiring the use of parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy drugs have also been examined in practice.
