The Center for Women’s Studies, in cooperation with its coordinators of women’s empowerment at the College of Science, held a series of awareness lectures within the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women. The first one was given by Assist. Lecturer Bayda Abdullah entitled (The role of university in combating violence against women) that was targeted towards what are the activities conducted and initiated lately by the University of Baghdad including holding conferences and educational workshops for the sake of combating violence against women and empowering them economically and socially, as well as the role of the university professor in educating students about women’s rights at all life levels.
