The Department of Accounting Studies at the Postgraduate Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad held a virtual scientific symposium entitled (Publishing Research in Global Repositories and Predatory Journals) via the Zoom platform that was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Wafa Hussein Salman, the associate dean and a number of professors, students, employees of the institute as well as experts who have participated in.
The symposium dealt with sober scientific journals within Scopus and Clarivate Analytics, and the indicators that are identifying sober scientific journals and pseudo-journals. The lecturers reached at several recommendations, the most important of which is urging professors and postgraduate students to publish within Scopus containers, urging them to refer to and quote information from researches and studies published by the university’s faculties, centers or institutes to enhance the status of the University of Baghdad in international rankings.
