The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad has organized a symposium on the Gorlin syndrome presented by Assist. The aim of the symposium is to identify the syndrome as a genetic condition characterized by many abnormalities in growth and predisposition to tumors as well as a rare, inherited disorder that affects many organs and tissues in the body where clinical manifestations include numerous basal cell cancers, corneal dental cysts in the jaws, hyperkeratosis of the palms and soles, skeletal deformities, facial deformity (enlargement of the head, cleft lip/palate and severe eye deformities). You need regular follow-up by a multidisciplinary team (dermatologists, neurologists, dentists). The lecturer tried also to clarify its symptoms and methods of treatment.
