The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled (Rights and duties of the university service employee under the University Service Law No. 23 of 2008 and its amendments) delivered by the lecturer Rasha Faleh Mustafa. The workshop aimed to raise the level of teaching and academic staff to develop university work in a manner consistent with regional data and changes in the field of higher education and scientific research by addressing the affairs of all university service employees and for the purpose of keeping pace with developments worldwide in the academic field and in line with the important democratic and civilizational transformations witnessed by Iraq and to open new fields and horizons for academic institutions.

It is noteworthy that the University Service Law has been enacted for every employee to practice teaching, scientific research, scientific and technical consultation, or to work in the office of the ministry of higher education and scientific research or its institutions who meet the conditions of a faculty member, stipulated in the Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 40 of 1988 or any law replacing it. The lecturer stated that the university service employee takes care of students intellectually and educationally, in order to achieve the interest of the homeland and the nation in laying the foundations of the democratic Iraqi community towards building a high-end human civilization, conducting theoretical, practical, applied and field lectures, training in laboratories, preserving their assets as well as monitoring their proper use, solving exercises, checking students’ reports or assignments and supervising on dissertations.
