The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad has lately organized a symposium entitled (The effects of violence against women on children’s health) via the Google Meet in the presence of a number of professors and administrators. The workshop aimed to support the battered women by educating the community about the negative effects of violence practiced against the battered mothers and the effect of this behavior on their children.

The lecturers also included highlight the causes of violence against women and its negative effects on the physical and psychosocial status of the battered mother and its direct and indirect impact on children’s health and development when they witness or hear violence against their mothers, such as night urination, regression. The symposium recommended paying attention to the health of the battered mothers, providing direct care in all health aspects, activating the consultation of the relevant health institutions, and seeking the help of the authorities concerned with the protection of citizens and that attention must also be paid to the health of children because they are the basis for building a safe and healthy society at all levels.
