The Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized an awareness campaign entitled (Plant a Tree), which included hanging posters in various university courtyards encouraging agriculture, expanding green areas and eliminating desertification.
This campaign comes under the supervision of the dean of the center and the assistant rector for administrative affairs, Prof. Dr. Karim Hassan Alwan, in order to spread the concept of environmental sustainability, which is reflected in the sustainability of diverse and productive vital systems over time, as well as to maintain the quality of life that we live in the long term, that might in turn depends on the preservation of the natural world and the responsible use of natural resources and this is what the urban planning center adopts within its extensive plans towards establishing modern sustainable cities.
