Prof. Dr. Muhannad Kazim Saber, a lecturer from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, has participated in the international team for the detection of the Sumerian human genome in Al-Shatrah District, Lagash site at Dhi Qar Governorate.

The visit was headed by Dr. Holly from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, along with a participating team from several European countries, in cooperation with members from the University of Vienna, Harvard University and the DNA Justice Center at Al-Nahrain University. The scholars took bone models from the remains of the Sumerian man 2800 years BC after confirming the archaeological site located in southern Iraq and providing a detailed study on the genome of the Sumerian man to know their location in origin.
