The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the College of Education for Women, held a scientific symposium entitled “Environmental Awareness among University Students to Achieve a Sustainable Environment” with the participation of (13) researchers who presented their research papers in this event in the presence of a number of professors, employees and students. The participants aimed to draw attention to the fact that environmental awareness is an important and necessary requirement for university students, in order to develop social awareness, reduce environmental pollution, achieve environmental security, increase their sense of responsibility towards the environment and nature, and carry out all practices that help protect and preserve it and learn how to recycle waste by adopting the systems set by the college.

They reached at a set of recommendations, the most important of which is urging students to participate in the distribution of leaflets and posters that explain the dangers of pollution on the natural resources, encouraging students to urge their families to plant some seedlings in their homes because of its impact on softening the atmosphere, imposing penalties on students and bodies working inside the university. The religious curriculum urges individuals to pay attention to their health reality and in line with the social environment, organizing seminars and courses that serve the environment and create intellectual awareness for professors and students, enacting legislation and laws that deter violators and transgressors of the environment, and the need to introduce environmental education into the school curricula in all stages of education in order to raise awareness, guidance and advice about the problems that occur in the environment.
