The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Women held a workshop entitled: “The Semiotics of Plants in the Holy Quran” that was headed by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Salah Kazim Hadi in the presence of a number of faculty members. The workshop aimed to shed light on the ways and forms of mentioning the plant in the Qur’an and employing it in its different contexts. Several topics were addressed in this event including plant species, patterns and employment from the semiotic point of view.
