Assist. Prof. Dr. Vian Ahmed Mohammed, a lecturer from the department of geography at the College of Education for Women has participated in the second international scientific conference of the college of education for humanities at the University of Mosul under the slogan “Humanities and future prospects” with a joint research entitled (The geopolitical importance of the Donbas region) with the teaching Assistant Professor Dr. Sirwan Arb Sadiq.
The research relied on the historical approach in order to identify the historical events of the Donbas region located in eastern Ukraine as well as to study the origins of its population relied on the analytical approach to clarify the strengths and weaknesses of this region. The research was divided into several basic demands, namely the geopolitical importance of the Donbas region for Russia, namely the Mariupol city that is witnessing a conflict over this area and the future scenarios. The researcher has received a certificate of participation in appreciation of his efforts in the sessions.
