The International Community Research Department at the Center for Women’s Studies, University of Baghdad held a scientific symposium entitled (Gender, Dynamics of Conflict, Power and Peacebuilding) in cooperation with the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies headed by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Abeer Najim Abdullah al-Khalidi who addressed several topics, including social, cultural, media, legal and political aspects.

The seminar aims to highlight the role of women in promoting peace and community security and highlight the role of women in the rehabilitation of victims of violence and extremism and UN resolutions and their role in protecting women during armed conflict. The seminar came up with important recommendations, including educating women, raising awareness in the field of electronic uses for electronic protection to prevent terrorists from exploiting them through technology and communications, encouraging the participation of youth, especially women, in rebuilding liberated areas devastated by conflicts, providing assistance to displaced persons and victims of terrorism, promoting peace, reconciliation and reconstruction, activating the role of business means in strengthening community cohesion and common cultural and civilizational ties for peaceful coexistence, and emphasizing the role of women through meaningful, balanced and objective media discourse.
