The Center for Market Research and Consumer Protection at the University of Baghdad has organized a seminar entitled (Fortified foods and their impact on human health) presented by Assist. Lecturer Enas Najim Abdullah. This event aimed to clarify the term “probiotics” and the need to focus on, as the benefit of the person on probiotics depends on the type of beneficial bacteria in them and their place of natural presence in the body, which varies from person to person and their usefulness such as maintaining the health of the digestive system and preventing and treating the incidence of diarrhea, acidity in the stomach and mental problems, most notably difficulty concentrating, depression and stress and may also lead to autism if its deficiency continues for a long time, and causes a lack of vitamins and minerals.

The participants also addressed the lack of beneficial bacteria means less decomposition of foods inside the intestine, this means the survival of compounds more complex and the lack of beneficial bacteria causes skin problems and the appearance of Rosacea or Eczema, that may increase the beneficial bacteria in the body by following the vegetarian diet works to increase the beneficial bacteria in the intestine because the vegetables contain fiber which helps to balance the bacteria inside the intestine, reduce sugars and artificial sweeteners and that eating them excessively causes leaky bowel syndrome that increases the risk of metabolic syndrome.
