Prof. Dr. Abdullah Hamid al-Otaibi, the head of the Department of History at the College of Education for Women, has published a scientific article in Al-Sabah newspaper (Issue 5507) on October 4, 2022 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Iraq’s entry into the League of Nations under published on October 3, 1932, entitled (The Story of Iraq’s Independence). He addressed in this article the role of King Faisal and Nouri Al-Saeed in the quest for the independence of Iraq and the struggle of the Iraqi people to obtain their freedom, discussing Britain’s promises to the Iraqis, Faisal’s first speech, the treaties of 1922, 1926 and 1930, as well as how Iraq was able to overcame difficulties in order to solve all obstacles in the path of entering in the League of Nations and finally the reasons behind choosing this day as a national holiday.
