Prof. Dr. Adel Abdul Hamza Thijeel, the dean of the college of political science at the University of Baghdad, has presided over the tenth session of Al-Rafidain Forum for Dialogue, held under the slogan “World is Changing”, which was held under the title “Afghanistan is an unknown future between renewed conflict and options for coexistence”, in the presence of several Iraqi, Arab and international figures. The forum aimed to put forward national and international initiatives on this issue in an attempt to urge the participants to consider realistically the national, regional and global problems, as well as to give precedence to rationality and positive thinking for the sake of finding solutions to those problems.

During his speech, the dean of the college addressed the repercussions of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the return of the Taliban movement to power, as well as addressing the reality of the conflict and future possibilities in the Afghan political scene as well as its regional and international effects on the region that is still experiencing some turmoil and instability, stating that Arab countries such as Tunisia, Libya and Bahrain are witnessing political crises that need to take local and international positions concerning them. The forum, which was held in its fourth edition, was attended by a high level of presidencies, ministers, senior executive, legislative, human rights defenders, diplomats, military and security officials, in addition to researchers, experts and academics from Iraqi, Arab and foreign institutions and universities, also representatives of local and global thinking centers or international governmental & non-governmental organizations at local, Arab and foreign private sectors.
