Assist. Prof. Dr. Moneim Khamis Mikhlif al-Hitawi, the assistant dean for administrative and financial affairs at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, has recently gained the membership of the scientific body of the National Index of Democratic Transition in Iraq (2021-2022), within the framework of cooperation between academic bodies and State institutions. Dr. Moneim al-Hitawi was participated in this event as a supervisor of the rule of law axis along with other aspects related to government performance, economic stability, electoral behavior, rights and freedoms, which were sponsored by the Public Policy Governance Center.

The results of this indicator showed that the level of the democratic transformation in the country is 3.9 out of 10, which led to the belief that Iraq is having partially an authoritarian rule, represented by the characteristic of stagnation and the continuation of the declining trend in the process of democratic transition and stability that reflects a defect that must be fixed. The proceedings of the conference witnessed holding a number of events managed by several governmental and parliamentary institutions, civil society institutions in addition to a number of local and international news agencies.
