The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has recently approved a book entitled “Fundamentals of Management in Social Institutions” to be a scientific resource studied at the college authored by Assist. Prof. Dr. Muna Haider Abdul Jabbar, a lecturer from the department of sociology at the college of education for women. The book includes fourteen chapters, in which Dr. Muna Haider shed light on the concept of management, its historical developments, processes and functions in an attempt to explain related issues for scholars as well as workers in the field of social work and all those who seek to achieve success and administrative excellence to apply the concepts, principles and theories contained therein. The importance of the book comes primarily from the fact that the era we live can be described as the age of institutions, so in order to achieve goals, managers must control and direct energies of personnel in various kinds towards achieving the desired targets adequately and effectively.
