The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage has organized a seminar entitled “Mental motivation among the students of the Arabic language departments and its relationship to their orientations towards the profession” delivered by the head of Baghdad Documentation Department, Dr. Khamail Shaker al-Jamali. The study aimed to define the level of mental motivation among students of Arabic language departments at the faculties of education at the universities of Baghdad province and their relationship to their orientations towards the profession.

Dr. Khamail al-Jamali has selected a sample consisted of 100 students from the fourth grade at the Arabic language departments, and then she adopted a mental motivation measure (Al-Rubaie, 2011) built to measure the trends towards profession. After the application of the two tools, she found that the level of the research sample was high in mental motivation as well as in the direction towards the profession, and that the relationship between mental motivation and the trend towards the profession was a high positive relationship. At last she recommended the need to know the level of mental motivation among students of the Arabic language departments and the level of trend towards the profession among students of Arabic language departments at the faculties of education in Baghdad.
