Prof. Dr. Sabah Qassem Khalaf, dean of the college of physical education and sports sciences at the University of Baghdad chaired recently an extensive meeting with the members of the National Classification Committee for the Quality of Iraqi Universities formed for reviewing the university’s quality for the five years (2015-2016) and (2019-2020).
The committee included representatives of the scientific branches, units and administrative divisions related to paragraphs and indicators measuring the degree of performance of scientific departments in colleges based on their academic outputs and the percentage of research indexed in Scopus, indicators related to students, as well as the scientific department’s access to the programmatic accreditation. The members also agreed on the timings and appropriate mechanism for the implementation of the national classification axes and the provision of all documents required by the central committee of the ministry of higher education and scientific research formed for this end.
